Kaklamanos named 2017 New Face of Civil Engineering
Alumnus Jim Kaklamanos was recently named one of the American Society of Civil Engineers' 2017 New Faces of Civil Engineering - Professional Edition. Each year, the ASCE recognition program highlights the achievements of young civil engineering professionals and honors their contributions to the field.
Kaklamanos is a triple Jumbo, receiving his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. from the Tufts Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Now an assistant professor of civil engineering at Merrimack College, he specializes in geotechnical engineering. He serves as the faculty advisor to the Merrimack College student chapter of the ASCE.
"As a student, my life was changed by the faculty I had. They helped me realize what I was truly passionate about, and I try to do the same for my students,” Kaklamanos says.
